Canucks G Ryan Miller Has Shutout Spoiled, but Still Steals Game

It was a must-win game for the Canucks against their arch-rivals the Calgary Flames.

Unfortunately, the home team was falling flat, with zero shots on goal 10 minutes into the game. They needed their goaltender to bail them out.

And that’s exactly what he did. Ryan Miller is the Canucks Player of the Game:

I’m not sure whether the NHL tracks “moral” shutouts, but if they do Miller is probably the league leader.

Just counting games against the Flames, he has been robbed of a shutout he deserved twice. First, there was opening night: despite stopping all Calgary shots, Loui Eriksson‘s own goal meant he did not get credited for a shutout.
