UTEP tennis and volleyball teams won national awards for achievement in the classroom this past year.
The UTEP tennis team received the intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team award and individual players Lois Wagenvoort and Daphne Visscher won individual academic awards.Teams must have an overall grade point average of 3.20 or above and individuals must have at least a 3.50 GPA to qualify for the awards. UTEP had a 3.66 team grade point average.
"I am extremely proud of the team for once again being named to the ITA All-Academic Team as well as having individual scholar athletes led by returning senior, Lois Wagenvoort," head coach Ivan Fernandez said.
