UTEP swept aside a one point halftime deficit to take a key 55-50 win over Florida Atlantic Thursday night at FAU Arena in Boca Raton, Fla.
The Miners won their fourth straight game and won their 10th game in their last 12 outings with great defense and balanced scoring.
The win moves UTEP to 12-15 on the season and 10-5 in the Conference USA race. The Miners are still tied for third in the conference standings with three games remaining. Florida Atlantic dropped to 9-17 and 5-10.
Dominic Artis led the balanced Miner attack with 12 points.
