UTEP hires women's basketball coach

UTEP didn't go far to find its next women's basketball coach.

Kevin Baker, who went 50-14 at Angelo State University the past two years, is taking over the University of Texas at El Paso program and will be introduced at a 2 p.m. press conference Monday at the Larry K. Durham Center.

The Angelo State Rambelles were 26-6 last season and made it to the third round of the regional tournament, the first time that program advanced to the Division II's Sweet 16.

"I’d like to thank Dr. Diana Natalicio and (UTEP Athletic Director) Bob Stull for giving me the opportunity to lead the UTEP women’s basketball program,” Baker said in a statement.
