The stern, larger-than-life image of a legend looked down from the wall over Rodney Terry's left shoulder on a beautiful desert southwest Wednesday afternoon.
Terry was formally introduced as UTEP's newest head basketball coach to media and boosters and a smattering of former players in the Foster-Stevens basketball practice facility on March 14 — the birthday of that legend, Don Haskins.
"UTEP is a special place," the 49-year-old Terry said. "It has great tradition, great history and a passionate fan base and it is still the only school in Texas to win a national championship in men's basketball.
