Northwestern State drops Miners

It was not pretty, never a thing of beauty. And it will never, never be a joy forever.

Northwestern State dealt UTEP a dose of disappointment on a cool and cloudy December night. It was a bit dreary outside the Don Haskins Center and it was even more dreary inside the old building for the Miners and their 5,928 fans on this Saturday night.

UTEP's last lead in this game was 3:15 into the affair, back at the beginning when heads were high and hopes were higher. Northwestern State, the visitors from Nachitoches, La., led UTEP 39-34 at the half, led the Miners by a dozen with a dozen minutes to play, led by double digits most of the final half on their way to a 79-67 win.
