UTEP quarterback Ryan Metz was in class so his phone was turned off, which in a way worked out because it meant he had a message on it to keep forever.
The person leaving it was Hall of Fame quarterback Archie Manning, which happens to a college quarterback, like Metz, good enough to be invited as an instructor for this weekend's Manning Passing Academy.
The four-day camp at Nichols State in Thibodaux, La., includes notables such as Peyton and Eli Manning, and college stars like Texas' Shane Buechele, TCU's Kenny Hill, USC's Sam Darnold UTEP's own Metz.
