CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Utah women’s tennis started its season at the UVA Invitational against a strong field of competition.
Wins in the first round came for Margo Pletcher, Jena Cheng, Alexia Petrovic, and Taylor Calton, who was able to register her first win as a Ute.
Pletcher came away with a hard-fought victory, defeating Marie DeCamps of George Washington University 7-6, 4-6, 7-5.
Cheng was able to come away with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Nikol Hristova of Old Dominion.
Petrovic defeated Victoria Kogan of George Washington University in a close 6-0, 4-6, 7-5 match.
