Utah's 3 Most Likely Bowl Destinations

Utah finished the year with a 5-4 Pac-12 record and an 8-4 overall season. That was enough to give the Utes bowl eligibility for the first time since 2011. Now that they are back in bowl season, where might Utah end up?

Sun Bowl (Pac-12 vs. ACC)

Utah could land in the Sun Bowl against an ACC opponent, with teams like USC, UCLA and Arizona State all ahead of the Utes in the Pac-12 pecking order. Utah would probably be a favorite over the likes of Washington and Stanford here though, with its fan base more likely to have a larger turnout.

Las Vegas Bowl (Pac-12 vs. Mountain West)

If Stanford jumps Utah and lands in the Foster Farms Bowl, every team could get pushed around, resulting in the Utes heading to Las Vegas. It wouldn't be the worst scenario for Utah, as Las Vegas would represent a better travel itinerary for the team and their fans.

Cactus Bowl (Pac-12 vs. Big 12)

Fri., Jan. 2, 8:15 p.m. MT

Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, AZ

The Cactus Bowl - formerly the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl - would represent the disappointment among the bowls on this list, as Utah should beat out Washington, likely sending the Huskies to this game. If Utah does end up here for some reason, Arizona still offers a good proximity for fan turnout, so the Utes would still have plenty of support despite the snub in bowl venue.
