USU football: wide receivers trying to set the tone for new offense during spring football practices

Utah State football held its seventh spring practice Thursday morning on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium, and the wide receivers group is looking to take it upon itself to set the tone for the offense with the pace and tempo they play with.

“During the first few weeks of spring practice the guys have done a good job of adjusting to and understanding what we are doing on offense with the fast pace and tempo,” said outside wide receivers coach Jovon Bouknight. “There has been a little bit of change in the offensive scheme, and we’ve tried to simplify a few things, but you can see the pace and tempo we are playing at, and the guys are handling it well.
