The Utah Jazz's long-awaited 2016-2017 season finally began Tuesday night in Portland, and after one half of play at the Moda Center, the Jazz are falling to the Trail Blazers, 54-46.

Playing without Gordon Hayward, Derrick Favors and Alec Burks because of injuries, Utah was led in the opening quarters by guards George Hill and Rodney Hood, who scored 15 and 14 points, respectively.
