Wins last year over Ohio and Memphis may have just been the beginning.
UTA Men’s Basketball released the 2016-17 season schedule Friday. The team will face 31 different teams from 13 different conferences.
UTA’s season kicks off against Texas Southern 7:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at College Park Center. Then, the Mavericks embark on a three-game road trip where they will face Minnesota, Florida Gulf Coast and Arkansas.
Also on the schedule for the Mavericks is a rematch with Texas Nov. 29 and a game against North Texas Dec. 3 in Denton.
Although UTA narrowly fell to Texas last year in an 80-73 overtime loss, head coach Scott Cross said the loss may have given his team confidence to win the matchup this year if the team plays in Austin the same way it did last year.
