A five run fourth inning gave the University of Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans a 5-1 lead that proved to be insurmountable as they defeated the Mavericks 9-4.

"We just have to forget about it and come back stronger tomorrow," junior center fielder Phil Berthiaume said.

Junior pitcher Trae Patterson allowed one hit in the first three innings, but gave up five runs on six hits in a crucial fourth inning.

The Mavericks scored their first run on an RBI single hit by Berthiaume in the second inning, and their second run of the game came on a sacrifice fly from senior third baseman Brady Cox in the fifth inning.
