The softball team’s 2017 season schedule has home court advantage tipped in its favor.
The Mavericks will play 32 home and 22 away games. UTA started last season with a historic 19-game win streak. Repeating the success may pose a challenge for the team, as their first 10 games are on the road.
UTA will open the season against University of California at Riverside in the Arizona State Tournament. They will play their first five in Tempe, Ariz., followed by another five-game road series in Louisiana.
The Mavericks will return to Allan Saxe Field Feb. 24 for a three-day home-opener tournament, where they will see Nicholls State University, Wichita State University and University of Missouri at Kansas City.
