Men's basketball team ends 3-game losing streak

UTA’s second-half woes came to an end Monday at College Park Center.

The men’s basketball team ended its three-game losing streak with an 88-67 win over the University of Saint Francis.

The Mavericks went in front early with a 13-11 lead, but then went on a 19-4 run, capitalized by three straight 3-pointers by junior forward Kevin Hervey, to put UTA in front 32-15. UTA finished the half with a 47-27 lead, led by 12 points from Hervey and 10 from junior guard Nathan Hawkins.

On UTA’s three-game road trip, the Mavericks struggled in the second half as they held a lead at halftime of each game, but couldn’t hang on to the leads in three losses.
