With the school year around the corner, the men’s and women’s basketball teams await their seasons after the release of the 2017-18 Sun Belt Conference schedule Thursday morning.
The 18-game conference schedule will consist of Thursday and Saturday doubleheaders between the two teams as they play identical opponents. Scott Cross, men’s basketball head coach, said the new schedule will benefit the players, because it gives them a chance for a full day off without worrying about class time or school work.
“I definitely prefer the Thursday-Saturday over the Saturday-Monday,” Cross said. “That just helps with everyone’s well-being during the season to have that full day off.
