Mavericks win 11th consecutive game

The men’s basketball team took a different approach to earn an 11th consecutive win.

UTA (12-3, 2-0) averages nearly 25 3-point attempts per game, but only attempted 15 in an 84-69 win over Appalachian State (5-8, 0-2) Monday at College Park Center.

In their last game against Coastal Carolina, the Mavericks attempted 38 3-pointers, but they split the Appalachian State defense for 46 points on the paint.

“This is a unique team,” head coach Scott Cross said. “That’s the beautiful thing about it, we can win inside, we can win outside, and we can win in transition, you know, most of all we have to win on the defensive end of the floor.
