With head coach Krista Gerlich’s most successful season with UTA behind her, the bar is set even higher for the 2017-18 season.
“Once you start winning, there’s always pressure,” she said. “It’s pressure that you put on yourself — you want to be at a place that expects you to win. We definitely want to do better, we want to continue to raise the standards, and I think that’s a great pressure to have.”
The Lady Mavericks capped a historic season with the third highest win total, a 22-9 overall record, and a 14-4 conference record.
UTA entered the Sun Belt Championship Tournament as the second seed before falling to Troy University in the semifinals.
