Men’s head basketball coach Scott Cross has agreed to a contract extension with UTA through the 2019-20 season. The terms of the deal are undisclosed.
Cross leads the men’s basketball program in coaching wins with 175 wins so far in his career.
This year he coached his team to a 22-9 (13-7) record this season, the team’s second best record in program history. This was even with the loss of sophomore forward Kevin Hervey midway through the season to a knee injury, who was leading the team in scoring (18.1) and rebounding (9.8).
After his loss, the Mavericks lost four straight games but had an impressive recovery by winning eight of their final 10 games.
