Cross-country freshman follows in family's footsteps

Family traditions run deep in many cultures, but for the Lautenslager’s: it literally runs.

Cross-country freshman Jared Lautenslager is on course to follow his family’s legacy, and is the fourth in his family to run at a Division I university, after his father and two older brothers.

UTA alumnus Craig Lautenslager is the oldest of the three brothers. He holds several accolades across his athletic career as a Maverick, including the school record for the 5,000 meter run and six individual conference titles in distance events.

Jeff Lautenslager is a senior at Boise State University, where he’s made his rounds as a top-five runner for the Bronco cross-country program.
