USC faces UCLA with unusually low-key attitude for big game

This is Crosstown Rivalry week, when USC and UCLA players traditionally explain why each school considers the other inferior and express ill-will with little repercussion.

“They hate us. We hate them,” USC linebacker Su’a Cravens said.

The only problem with Cravens’ comment was he made it in 2013, not 2015. Here is what Cravens said this week about the Bruins: “They’re a good team. We’ll play them and do our best to try and stop them and it’s always good to come out with a win.”

Did Cravens suddenly channel the sedate nature of USC interim coach Clay Helton?
