Trojans' hot shooting enough to down Arizona State

By STAFF WRITER

LOS ANGELES – The reasons were perplexing.

As it began Pac-12 play, USC was suddenly not shooting well. It made less than 40 percent of its shot attempts in its first seven conference games, including 37 percent in a home loss to Arizona on Thursday night.

In the moments after falling to the Wildcats, Trojans coach Andy Enfield was asked if there was a cause for his team’s struggles. No explanation was quite satisfactory.

But perhaps, he was asked, was there reason for encouragement?

After all, the Trojans ended the game by scoring 32 points in the final 10 minutes, and they made half their shots in the second half.
