If you’re the USC Football starting quarterback, heading into a season with Heisman Trophy and national championship expectations, there’s no shortage of people to ask for advice on handling expectations.
Cody Kessler dealt with the circus in 2015 and Matt Barkley faced the same expectations in 2012.
For Sam Darnold, there was an even more obvious choice.
“I actually talked to Matt Leinart about [expectations], because he handled it very well obviously,” Darnold said at Pac-12 Media Days on Thursday. “He was just saying, ‘Hey, continue to do what you do.'”
