After Pac-12 Tournament loss to Utah, USC will play the waiting game

LAS VEGAS >> They’re not looking inside the gift box yet. First, they want it delivered.

“I got here three years ago, same as Coach,” said Nikola Jovanovic, in the USC locker room Thursday night. “This would be the first time for us. So Sunday is going to be exciting.”

Sunday is when the NCAA scrawls 68 names into the bracket, and everyone from the President on down structures a pool. In some ways it’s become the most compelling day of the tournament. Some teams are in already. Some know they will be.

The Trojans, who were 80-72 losers to Utah in the Pac-12 quarterfinals, shouldn’t worry, according to everyone familiar with the math.
