The UCLA-USC football rivalry has turned into a charity Thanksgiving faceoff to “Tackle Hunger.”
Faculty, fans and alumni will engage in a donation battle to feed the one-in-six residents who struggle to feed their families.
Supporters of each school are asked to give $10 to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank by texting “GoUCLA” or “GoUSC” to 41444 on their phones. Each dollar provides enough food for four meals.
“The focus of the holiday season is family and food … and let’s not forget football,” food bank President and CEO Michael Flood, said in a statement.
