Rebel baseball goes 2-2 in 4-game stretch

Rebel baseball went 2-2 in their 4-game stretch this week against the Grand Canyon University Lopes and the San Diego State Aztecs.

The Rebels began the week at home on Tuesday with a tough 10-8 loss in a high scoring bout against the Lopes.

The Lopes had an explosive fifth-inning where they chalked up four runs. Outfielder Quin Cotton led the charge for the Lopes, crossing home plate three times.

A highlight for the Rebels was sophomore outfielder Ernie De La Trinidad’s performance as he scored three runs and accounted for two runs batted in.

The Rebels made a pitching change heading into their second game against the Lopes: moving left-handed pitcher Jake Lewis into the starting pitching role.
