The United States Women’s National Team will take the field for the final time in 2023 tomorrow night when they take on China in Frisco, Texas. The USWNT took care of business against China in their first match on Saturday, winning 3-0 down in Fort Lauderdale. Now, they hope to close out the year with another solid performance.
Despite the number of players in camp trying to make an impression, the goals on Saturday came from 3 members of the 2023 Women’s World Cup team: Sophia Smith, Lindsey Horan, and Trinity Rodman. As this is the final camp before the 2024 W Gold Cup, the newer faces, along with those we haven’t seen on the national team in a while, will have one final chance to show interim coach Twila Kilgore and permanent coach Emma Hayes that they are the ones that should be invited to California for that tournament in February.
