No. 11 UConn women’s hockey dropped a close one to No. 7 Quinnipiac, 4-2, at Ingalls Rink in New Haven for their first game of the Nutmeg Classic. The Huskies fall to 9-4-1 on the season and remain 8-3 in conference play.
Shots were even through the first period as the Bobcats took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission thanks to a nice individual effort for the goal.
In the second period, the Huskies tied it up and briefly held a lead. Kyla Josifovic spun around behind the net and sent the puck into the middle; Claire Peterson skated up to it and sent a wrist shot through to tie the game.
