UConn Men's Hockey vs. Providence: Period-by-Period Updates

The score is tied after one period as the Huskies weathered a solid attack from Providence, who managed nine shots, while producing some offensive opportunities of their own.

The Huskies got the first power play of the period after the Friars' Kevin Rooney was called for interference. But it was cut short by a Spencer Naas penalty. Shortly afterward Joe Masonius was called for a hooking penalty but the Huskies were able to kill both power plays.

Providence is executing at a high level, with its best chance coming on that second power play as a John Gilmour shot hit the post.
