Police said they are looking for a thief after the person stole a car with children in it in Hartford Monday.
“Scary moment tonight when mom briefly leaves running car unattended w/15yr old and 7 month old inside in the south end. Every single HPD patrol and specialized unit reassigned until the children were located.,” Lt. Paul Cicero tweeted Monday evening. He implored drivers to never leave their cars running, especially with children inside.
The car was stolen in the city’s South End, Cicero said about 6:40 p.m. Every patrol officer and a special investigative team were assigned to the case, he said.
