Connecticut state trooper charged with workers compensation fraud

A Connecticut State Police trooper in Moosup was arrested Wednesday and charged with bilking $47,000 in workers compensation from the state after an injury on the job last summer.

Kevin Moore, 40, was charged with one count of making a fraudulent claim or receipt of benefits and one court of first-degree larceny, the Division of Criminal Justice announced Wednesday.

Moore injured his back while on duty as a trooper in July 2019 and was placed on temporary total disability by physician, entitling him to workers compensation through the state police’s insurance carrier — the state, in this case, officials said.
