Why hasn't there yet been a major press conference and civic shindig to kick off a region-wide campaign to get UCF into the Big 12?
This is urgent and needs to be done yesterday.
We need to come up with a catchy slogan – something like "The Drive to Power Five" -- and hold the news conference at the 50-yard line of Brighthouse Networks Stadium. That's where our two mayors – Orlando's Buddy Dyer and Orange County's Teresa Jacobs – will stand together with UCF President John Hitt and Athletics Director Danny White to announce that this entire metropolitan area of more than 2 million people is going to pool its energy and synergy to make sure UCF is the Big 12's No.
