Fans have long traded barbs in the rivalry series and players on both sides have had no trouble identifying the matchups as big games.
The Bulls, however, wanted to little to do with helping elevate the then-Conference USA member Knights to their level as members of the now defunct Big East. Conference realignment finally forced the two sides together into one league, the American Athletic Conference, naturally adding regular showdowns to the simmering rivalry.
Now UCF and USF athletics directors have agreed to tally points for wins in sports both schools sponsor and award a traveling trophy at the end of each academic year.
