The Tulsa women's soccer team battled Central Michigan to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in the season opener on Friday evening in the Jayhawk Invitational at Rock Chalk Park in Lawrence, Kan.
Madison Costner struck first for the Chippewas as she scored on a breakaway off a pass from Sarah Mitchell at the 27:58 mark. Neither team found the back of the net for the remainder of the half as CMU took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Addyson Guthrie evened the score in the 64th minute as she drilled a shot off the cross bar and into the goal off a 30-yard pass from Reagan Whitlow.
