Tulane baseball opens the 2017 season Friday with a new coach for the second time in three seasons.
Travis Jewett will coach his first game in charge of the Green Wave after former coach David Pierce left after last season to take the head coaching job at Texas.
Under Pierce, Tulane reached the NCAA tournament in both of his two seasons.
The Friday opener against Army will include a starting lineup with seven seniors, including ace right-hander Corey Merrill on the mound.
