Tulane falls to Columbia 11-5 Saturday

Columbia scored six runs in the top of the ninth to break a 5-5 tie and top Tulane baseball, 11-5, Saturday at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.

The Green Wave (5-13) trailed 5-2 in the seventh, but tied it up on a three-run home run by Jarret DeHart. In the ninth, the Lions (1-10) scored runs on an RBI single, walk and a two-out grand slam to take an 11-5 lead. Tulane had taken a 1-0 lead, then fought back from 4-1 and 5-2 deficits to knot the score heading into the final inning.

"They were a hungry team today and they just came out and took advantage of all our mistakes.
