Alex Bregman's hitting streak stopped at 14 games: Locals in Major League Baseball

Alex Bregman had his 14-game hitting streak stopped Sunday but the good news was the Astros beat the Texas Rangers, 2-1, to stop a 5-game losing streak. Bregman has been playing both third and shortstop since Carlos Correa was lost with a thumb injury

Bregman, who got off to a slow start, raised his average to .273 during the streak. In that span he had 18 hits in 55 at-bats (.327) and had 5 doubles, 2 triples and 3 home runs. He had a huge game-tying, 2-run triple in the ninth inning vs. Toronto, and then scored the game-winning run on a base hit by Juan Centeno.
