SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Troy women's basketball team fell to Texas State, 74-72, on Saturday at Strahan Coliseum.
The Trojans (18-9, 11-5 Sun Belt) had an opportunity to tie or take the lead with 4.4 seconds remaining after Texas State (16-11, 11-5) missed a pair of free throws, but were unable to get a shot off before the horn.
Despite shooting just 18 percent (3-17) from the field and turning the ball over six times in the opening quarter, the Trojans led by three, 14-11. Turnovers and extended field goal droughts plagued Troy in the first half.
