TROY – Texas State stopped Troy’s momentum in Sun Belt Conference play with a hot streak, systemically great defense and uncharacteristically fantastic rebounding.
The Bobcats hit nine consecutive shots in the second half and used two key offensive rebounds to stem a Trojan rally in a 75-71 victory on Monday at Trojan Arena. The second-half effort followed a first half where the Bobcats – who had the nation’s 21 st -best defense -- shut down the Trojans to just 23 points on 37.5 percent shooting from the field.
