QB Brandon Silvers, Troy Trojans' receivers aim for big pass plays down the stretch

TROY – His completion percentage and passing yards per game are up from last year, but Troy quarterback Brandon Silvers knows something is still lacking from his performances.

“Obviously the touchdown passes are missing,” the senior said Monday. “I don’t really know. I feel like I have been playing at a high level. It’s just that one stat that is not there.”

Through five games, Silvers has only two touchdown passes. At this point in 2016, he had 12.

So, what gives? Well, with a 1,300-yard rusher who weighs 235 pounds (Jordan Chunn) returning plus a stable of reliable running backs behind him, it is hard not to trust the running game to get things done – especially in short-yardage situations.
