TROY, Alabama – Troy senior running back Jordan Chunn has been named to the Doak Walker Award Watch List, the SMU Athletic Forum announced Thursday.
The award, which will name its 28th recipient in 2017, is named for SMU's three-time All-America running back Doak Walker. It is the only major collegiate award that requires all candidates to be in good academic standing and on schedule to graduate within one year of other students of the same classification.
Chunn became the ninth 1,000-yard rusher in Troy history last season as he rushed for 1,288 yards and 16 touchdowns – both totals ranked as the second most in a season in school history.
