Tottenham bury Bill Nicholson's ashes on spot where their new stadium's pitch overlaps the old White Hart Lane turf in 'return home' for club legend

Tottenham have moved to honour club legend Bill Nicholson at their new stadium by re-burying his ashes at their White Hart Lane site.

The remains of Nicholson, who died aged 85 in 2004, and those of his wife Grace were buried under the pitch at Spurs until their stadium was demolished last year.

As part of the development of their new 62,000-seater ground, Tottenham have now moved the ashes to a spot where the White Hart Lane pitch, where Nicholson played and managed, and the turf of the new stadium will overlap.
