Spurs and England at the World Cup

Congratulations to Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Harry Kane, Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier, who will represent the Three Lions in Russia next month.

Their selection matches our contingent in England's squad for the 2010 World Cup, when Peter Crouch, Michael Dawson, Jermain Defoe, Ledley King and Aaron Lennon travelled with Fabio Capello to South Africa.

We had four players in the first England squad to travel to the tournament in 1950 – Eddie Baily, Ted Ditchburn, Bill Nicholson and Alf Ramsey, all members of our 'push and run' team that would clinch the First Division title the next season.
