Karl Robinson has admitted even he has been surprised by Dele Alli’s rapid rise to stardom - despite tipping the Tottenham Hotspur star to play for England many years ago.
The Charlton manager joined Mark Saggers on talkSPORT to discuss a manner of subjects, and Alli’s incredible spell in North London naturally came up.
Robinson handed Alli his professional debut when he was just 16, and has been quoted many times previously insisting he always believed the now 20-year-old midfielder would play for England.
