Tax changes will crush the dreams of Canadian entrepreneurs, Ad, Sept. 30

So, Canadian business owners have risen up against the proposed federal tax changes, placing a full-page ad in the Saturday Star and starting a website with the initials WTF in it.

The signatories argue they “are busy creating jobs,” “paying decent salaries, so we can all raise our families here.” Given the way other small business owners and corporations have been protesting the proposed increase in the minimum wage, this was surprising.

But perhaps there may be a compromise: a reduced tax rate for corporations that have demonstrated they are good employers, offering employees a living wage, full benefits and job re-training.
