Given the oft-mentioned catchphrase “In Masai we trust”, your columnist, a skeptic from way back (or I think I am!) wanted to see how well Masai Ujiri’s moves have worked in the past calendar year.

With the knowledge gained from free agency, this deal looks positively brilliant. Look no further than the dough his backup, Bismack Biyombo, received from Orlando – the same duration of contract….$72M. Guess who just signed the exact same deal as JV?
