Veteran power forward Amir Johnson is staying in the Atlantic Division but it is not with the Toronto Raptors. On the frenzied first day of free agency Johnson agreed to sign with the Boston Celtics. The deal is worth a reported $24 million over two years. You read that right – the man who suffered from constant ankle problems just got $12 million a season. They overpaid.
For fans including Drake, Amir’s less than stellar performance didn’t matter. During game two of their playoff series against the Washington Wizards there were constant chants from the fans to put Johnson on the court.
