Toronto Maple Leafs pro scout Mike Penny is in attendance for the Sharks/Kings game in LA tonight as we continue to move toward the trade deadline.
The Leafs don’t play the Sharks until February 28th, and the Kings until March 2nd, so it’s unlikely this is a due diligence viewing.
The Leafs have great depth at forward and question marks all over their blueline and if you look at the Sharks and Kings defenders – the ones not named Vlasic/Burns, Doughty/Muzzin – it’s hard to imagine much interest for the Leafs.
Justin Braun is a right shot defender, but he plays a style that is opposite to what the Toronto Maple Leafs do while they’re having success.
