Toronto Maple Leafs Player Preview: Colin Greening

Greening came to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Dion Phaneuf trade and was an effective player for Toronto during his 30 games in hockey’s capital.

The former Senator had 15 points in 30 games, with 11 of those coming at 5v5. He also had decent possession numbers and shot suppression for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Brooks Laich and Ben Smith were his most common forward linemates, which makes Greening’s stint last year even more impressive – especially the Ben Smith part.

Greening wasn’t carried by anyone – not even the possession-savvy Jake Gardiner (his most common defensive linemate) – which is another positive to the 30 year old winger.
