Dubas has the chance to grow exponentially with the Toronto Maple Leafs over the next several seasons and come out on the other end as a tremendous general manager.
The additions of Mike Babcock, Lou Lamoriello and Jacques Lemaire gives the 28-year-old GM-to-be a knowledge arsenal that is unrivaled anywhere else in the National Hockey League.
Lamoriello, at his initial press conference, had this to say on Dubas:
“He’s a young fellow who has tremendous abilities,” Lamoriello said of Dubas. “And if he doesn’t become a general manager here – I’m not going to be here for a lifetime – it’s going to be his fault.
